Dear John movie poster

I was only able to see the official Dear John movie poster and trailer this morning. I first read the book a couple of months ago, and I’ve been looking forward to seeing the trailer since I finished reading it.

The movie’s coming out February next year, and I sure as hell am going to see it. I hope the movie stays true to the book.

I’m currently recovering from a sore throat, so things could be better. Hot tea and pei pa koa are my best friends. My throat still feels a little scratchy but not as bad as yesterday.

New shoesA lot of things happened the past few days. Firstly, I bought a new pair of tennis shoes (Adidas Ambition STR IV), pictured at the left. I got it 20% off the usual price, which is good.

Also, I am now a registered voter. The registration process was hell. My friends and I went there yesterday at 7:00AM. We finished registering a few minutes after 5PM. It took us 10 hours just to register. I went home not feeling well – I had a sore throat way before that and I guess it just got worse because of yesterday’s ordeal. I still don’t know who to vote for, but hey, I have until May 10, 2010 to decide, right?

I also saw (500) Days of Summer with Lyndon today. All I can say is: it’s an awesome movie and I love it. It’s probably one of the best movies I’ve seen all year. I don’t want to ruin it for people who haven’t seen it. So go see it, you won’t regret it. :) I can’t wait for the Region 1 DVD release.

Lyndon and I have also figured out how to play Real by Plumb and we might try recording it with piano and guitar next week. :)

Booking Through Thursday tomorrow, yay. :)

I found an interesting weekly meme, Booking Through Thursday. Since it revolves around something I am very much into – books – I’ve decided to do it every week. :)

This week’s question:

When’s the last time you weeded out your library? Do you regularly keep it pared down to your reading essentials? Or does it blossom into something out of control the minute you turn your back, like a garden after a Spring rain?

Or do you simply not get rid of books? At all? (This would have described me for most of my life, by the way.)

And–when you DO weed out books from your collection (assuming that you do) …what do you do with them? Throw them away (gasp)? Donate them to a charity or used bookstore? SELL them to a used bookstore? Trade them on Paperback Book Swap or some other exchange program?
